Product description
Captain Film privacy film is an ideal solution for preserving the privacy of residential spaces without blocking natural light. Thanks to its multi-layer structure incorporating a metallised layer, it reduces light transmission to the outside and creates a mirror effect during the day. People outside mainly see their own reflection, while the interior remains bright and pleasant.
This blackout window film can be applied to both the inside and outside of the glass. It has an adhesive that offers excellent long-term durability and is resistant to temperature variations and UV rays.
In addition to protecting privacy, the privacy film is discreet and attractive, blending harmoniously with all types of glazing without altering the architectural appearance of façades.
Mesure your windows
Taking measurements is an essential step in ensuring a clean finish and optimal effectiveness of the privacy film. Start by measuring the visible width and height of the window, excluding seals, glazing beads and frames.
It is recommended that you use the smallest measurement and allow for a 2 to 3 millimetre margin on each side. This margin will prevent the window film from touching the frame, which could affect its adhesion and durability.
Accurate ordering and measurements allow for faster application of the film and limit adjustments during installation to ensure a consistent and durable result.
Why use anti-glare film?
Blackout film is particularly appreciated for its ability to protect privacy without darkening interior spaces. It is an effective solution for homes located on the ground floor or near other buildings. During the day, the mirror effect prevents prying eyes while maintaining good visibility from the inside. Unlike curtains, blinds or net curtains, privacy film offers discreet protection, is almost invisible and does not take up any space. Blackout film also helps to improve indoor comfort by reducing glare from direct sunlight. By filtering out some of the UV rays, it helps protect furniture, floors and textiles from premature fading. Easy to install and durable, Captain Film privacy film is an attractive and economical alternative to traditional blackout solutions. It meets privacy needs while respecting the architecture and design of existing windows.
Application method
The privacy film must be applied to perfectly clean glass. Start by cleaning the glass with soapy water, a scraper and a squeegee to remove all impurities, even invisible ones. Then dry the edges and frames with a clean microfibre cloth.
Spray the surface of the glass generously with soapy water. Remove the protective film from the privacy film and immediately moisten the adhesive side. Apply the privacy film with the wet side against the glass, starting at the top, then adjust its position.
Rub the film from the centre towards the edges to remove any water and air. Cut off any excess if necessary, ensuring that the film does not touch the joints or the frame. Leave the privacy film to dry for several weeks without touching it to ensure optimal adhesion and a flawless finish.
